Everyone knows that alpine skiing, freestyle skiing and snowboarding are dangerous sports. according to PMC official website, a little bit over 35% of the world cup athletes are reported injured every season. Even if the injury risks are high, no one should stop skiing. Throughout the years, the technology has changed the ski world. A recent example would be the ski helmet. back in the 90 and before, not a single skier would wear a helmet. Did you know that Liam Neson’s wife died at Mont-Tremblant due to a fatal hit at the head while skiing? sadly if she had a helmet on, she would ‘have been safe according to the ski patrols. fortunately, now, every skier (or almost) wear a ski helmet. the risk of severe injuries went down a bit, however, there is still a big risk. Luckily, technology will continue to rise and help our beloved sport.
